Abounu takes over as Benue governor, see why

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Monday began a 10-day working leave.

The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Terver Akase said, the working leave which will form part of the Governor’s annual leave, will terminate on October 31, 2018.

Although there is no mention of the Governor’s engagements during the leave.

In a letter of notification to the Benue State House of Assembly, Governor Ortom stated that his Deputy, Engineer Benson Abounu will act as Governor of the State, in line with Section 190 of the Country’s Constitution.

The letter urged the State House of Assembly to accord the Acting Governor every support and cooperation within the period.
