Abuja: Millions of goods burnt as fire razes house in Kurudu Army Estate

Millions of goods have been burnt to ashes as fire completely razed down a building in Kurudu Army Estate, Abuja.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the fire started at about 8:00 am on Saturday, Feb 12, 2022.

The building was said to be belonging to one woman simply identified as Madam Helen.

One of Helen’s daughters known as Charity, told IDOMA VOICE that it was a boy that came and told us that there is fire burning on our roof.

When Charity was asked the cause of the fire, she said the cause of it must be electrical fault.

“We have finished doing everything. We were about going to the shop when a boy came and told us that there is fire burning on our roof.

My mum was also outside washing her car to go and vote because today is election.

When we came out, we saw fire everywhere on the building”, Charity said.

Charity further stated that they were able to move out some valuables from the sitting room and a bedroom before the fire escalated.

“One of the bedrooms was completely burnt with everything inside. Both fan, television, clothes, bed, documents etc were burnt in that room. We didn’t move a single item from the room”.

FCT Fire Service reported to the scene and and put out the fire with the help of other residents around the area.

The fire was put out at about 10: 50 in the morning.

Meanwhile, no life was lost in the incident at the time of filing this report.
