Residents of Abuja on Wednesday evening expressed mixed feelings as Nigeria’s capital city records its first downpour in 2021.
The light rain, which started at about 9:26 p.m to 9:45pm in different parts of the capital city, was accompanied with wind.
A resident, Susan, said the early rain was a welcome development and she is ready to go clear her farm for the season.
“It was a long awaited rain in this hot weather but hope it continues.
“We have longed for this rainfall since the heat started, we can sleep well tonight,” Susan said.
Another resident, Vera, said the showers will stop the dusty environment temporarily.
“ Well, at least, the dust will reduce. A new season is hear,’’ Vera added.
