Another female student from the University of Port Harcourt has been discovered deceased in her apartment in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. The student, identified as Adaeze, was reportedly a 200-level Accounting undergraduate.
Adaeze’s lifeless body was found on Friday in her off-campus residence in Aluu, near the university. The exact cause of her death remained uncertain at the time of this report on Monday.
This incident occurred only two weeks after the decomposed body of a 300-level Biochemistry undergraduate, Justina Otuene, allegedly murdered by her ex-lover Damian Okoligwe, was discovered in Okoligwe’s residence along NTA Road, Ozuoba in Obio/Akpor LGA. Okoligwe, a 400-level Petrochemical Engineering student at UNIPORT, has been arrested by the police.
Chima Wokocha, the Dean of Student Affairs at UNIPORT, stated that the lifeless student was found in her off-campus residence and taken to a health facility at the university by some of her neighbors. The university’s management and the police visited the scene, and the deceased student’s parents have been informed.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. She mentioned that the landlord discovered the student and reported it to the police.
