Dignitaries, prominent clerics, friends, and family members gathered on September 27 to celebrate the 70th birthday of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel.
The grand celebration took place at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, with the auditorium packed with guests, all dressed in white and blue, joining in the joyous occasion.
Before the event, Oyedepo had requested that his members win souls as birthday gifts, but he was also presented with several extravagant gifts, including a luxurious Rolls Royce Cullinan and a N1 billion donation aimed at feeding 50,000 people at Canaanland.
President Bola Tinubu also praised Oyedepo’s contributions to leadership development, education, health, and entrepreneurship in a statement honoring his legacy.
During the celebration, Oyedepo was seen dancing joyfully to music performed by gospel artists Adeyinka Alaseyori and Nathaniel Bassey.
In his speech, Oyedepo gave all glory to God, saying, “I am simply a representative of the icon of icons, Jesus; my glory and the lifter of my head. He is the one working behind the scenes 24 hours every day. I’m merely a beneficiary of God’s grace.”
His wife, Faith Oyedepo, also expressed her deep admiration, saying she hopes to have a mansion beside his in heaven.
Notable guests at the event included former President Olusegun Obasanjo; governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta); the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; and renowned clerics such as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Foluke, alongside Poju Oyemade, Jerry Eze, and Matthew Ashimolowo.
