Canadian rapper Drake found himself on the losing side once more after betting on Israel Adesanya to defeat Dricus du Plessis in the UFC 305 main event.
Drake wagered $450,000 on “The Last Stylebender” Israel Adesanya to secure a victory over UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis. However, the fight did not go as planned, with Adesanya losing by choke submission, dashing Drake’s hopes of walking away with $850,000.
This isn’t the first time Drake has lost a bet on Adesanya. In their first UFC fight, Drake reportedly staked CA$2,000,000 (approximately N600 million at the time) on Adesanya to defeat Alex Pereira, expecting a return of CA$2,900,000. Unfortunately, Adesanya was knocked out just minutes before the end of the contest.
Drake did experience a win when he placed a $400,000 bet on Adesanya to knock out Pereira in their rematch, but his losing streak continues with this latest gamble.
The ‘Hotline Bling’ artist has earned a reputation for his frequent losses in sports betting, further fueling the so-called “Drake Curse.”
