Prompt intervention of the Executive Chairman of Ado L.G.A, Hon Engr. Sunny Oche has foiled planned attack by Fulani herdsmen on Ai-Adaka community in Igumale.
On Thursday evening, after receiving a distress call from the Ozoko Achadu Igumale, briefing him on how the four Ai-Adaka women escaped and abandoned all their belongings at the farm to ensure their safety.
The Chairman immediately called on the DSS, Police and the Civil Defense Corps to ensure the safety of the environment and protection of life and properties of the affected community.
The troops rushed to the community when they received intelligence that herdsmen were heading to the Ai-Adaka area in Igumale Ado L.G.A of Benue State.
Upon inquiry, the troops discovered that suspected herdsmen were advancing towards the town and they immediately mobilised and rescued the situation.
Samson Otokpa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, in a statement said the attack was successfully repelled. The success achieved was however a huge intervention of the local government Boss who gave support and a stink warning against those behind this criminal activities in the local government.
The Chairman reiterated that, the local government is no longer a safe haven for kidnappers and miscreants and advised they should stay away as the long arm of the law will catch up with them very soon.
In addition, the Chairman commended the Security Agencies for their Prompt intervention and asked them remain focused on the mission of ridding the local Government of all criminal elements.
He charged the communities to make available to the appropriate authorities any genuine and relevant information that will forestall future reoccurrence.
