Ado Local Government on fire

The rate of Kidnapping activity at Ado Local Government Area of Benue State is indeed becoming a serious Pandemic that demands urgent attention.
This ugly activity started last year. Precisely on May 16th, 2020 when the first Kidnap case was recorded, in person of Oche Godwin Ogbloja.
Since then, there have been incessant Kidnapping cases in the area. The hotspot is around Igumale Cement Factory, along the Igumale – Rijo Road.

Exactly one year interval, the Director, Local Government Health Authority for Ado, L.G.A, Mr Charles Ochapa a.k.a Ogaba Wole and his P.A, Ochai Ogaba were kidnapped by unknown gun men at the same spot.
The Director whose vehicle developed some faults and in the process of trying to fix it was whisked away with his P.A by these unknown gunmen that emerged from the bush and took them to unknown destination.

All efforts by the youths of the area, the Acting Chairman of Ado Local Government, Mr Abel Onazi and the State anti robbery squad to bring the perpetrators to book, proved abortive.
It was confirmed from the council’s information officer, Samuel Ogbu that the kidnappers had contacted the family and demanded the sum of N7M (seven million naira) ransom to their release.

The questions is: what is really happening in Ado? What on earth has she turned to? Where are we going?
It is obvious that the fight is above the power of the people of Ado because the hoodlums are in possession of highly sophisticated weapons. Who is going to rescue us from this calamity?

It may surprise you to say that in the last one year, Ado had recorded the following kidnap cases in the area.
1. Otse Godwin Ogbloja a.k.a Otse-Goddy
2. Peter Otokpa Unogwu a.k.a Naraguta
3. John Ukwaba (Ibo trader in the area)
4. Obande Christopher
5. Wisdom Ogalegwu
6. Samuel Agbo
7. Godfrey Ochoga Agbese
8. Charles Ochapa a.k.a Ogaba- Wole
9. Ochai Ogaba and the host of others.

Since the State Government has totally neglected Ado, We the youths of the area are urgently calling for the removal and replacement of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), we are soliciting the intervention of the Federal Government to rescue us from living in perpetual fear of being attack by deploying mobile Police officers to the Local Government headquarters.

Investigative delegation should be sent from Abuja to interview the following people on the state of security threat in Ado Local Government Area:
a. The Ado Local Government Information Officer
b. The Local Government Security secretary
c. The Second Class chief (Ada-Ado)
d. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO)
e. The Divisional Crime Officer (DCO)
f. The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).

It is when and only when the above factors is being addressed that Ado people can successfully sleep with their eyes close.

Please we are crying to the constituted authorities to come to our aid🙏 as these unscrupulous people have formed a habit of risking and extorting monies from the Adolites, thereby leaving them and their households in abject poverty.

Long live Ado Local Government
Long live Benue State
Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria

Comrade Omega Agbese
Chairman,
Igumal Youths Development Association
Makurdi Branch.
