Nigerian assistant coach Joseph Yobo has branded Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi the game-changer ahead of the Super Eagles clash with the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday evening for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2022’s Group D match.
The former Eagles captain Yobo said this ahead of the match against Liverpool’s Salah-led Egypt in Cameroon.
Speaking with Everton’s website, Yobo said “Iwobi is a big, big player for us in the national team”.
“He trains hard every day – he is our game changer. When things are hard, he can change things for us…works his socks off and, technically, he is very good.
“Iwobi has the skill and the energy to run at players and trackback, he can do all that. And he has an eye for goal.
“He is very important for Nigeria and I believe he can be for Everton, too.”
