AFCON 2023 semi-final: Super Eagles vs S/Africa, Ivory Coast tackle DR Congo

The stage is set for an exciting showdown as the semi-final matches for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations have been officially determined. The quarter-final fixtures concluded on Saturday night, setting the scene for intense battles in the next round.

South Africa secured their place in the semi-finals after a tense encounter with Cape Verde that ended in a goalless draw after 120 minutes of play. Bafana Bafana ultimately triumphed in the penalty shootout, earning them the right to face their rivals, Nigeria, in a highly anticipated clash for a spot in the final.

In a thrilling match earlier in the day, hosts Ivory Coast emerged victorious with a dramatic 2-1 win over Mali, securing their passage into the last four. The Ivory Coast team will now face DR Congo in the semi-final, promising another compelling matchup.
