AFCON: ‘Akor Adams has shown that he is the future’ – Victor Ikpeba
Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Ikpeba, has identified Akor Adams as the surprise player who has impressed him the most in Nigeria’s squad at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking on Adams’ impact, Ikpeba praised the striker for the qualities he has brought to the Super Eagles’ attack, highlighting his work rate, movement and selflessness.
“I personally have been really impressed with Akor Adams, just his movement and how unselfish he is,” Ikpeba told Bet9ja.
“He’s shown that he is the future. Lots of credit to the manager for having faith in him and seeing the potential.
“He’s a big lad; it’s not easy to play against him. He’s quick with the ball and he can strike it really well.”
Adams has so far scored two goals and provided two assists in five appearances for Nigeria at the tournament, emerging as a key attacking option for the Super Eagles as they continue their AFCON campaign.
