Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has revealed that two key players, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ahmed Musa, are currently nursing injuries ahead of the team’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final clash against Angola on Friday evening.
Peseiro confirmed the injuries on Thursday, expressing concerns about the fitness of Osayi-Samuel and Musa, stating, “There is injury at this moment. Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ahmed Musa have some pain, but I think they will be ready for the match tomorrow [Friday].”
The 63-year-old coach did not rule out the possibility of both players participating in the crucial quarter-final match against Angola. Osayi-Samuel has been actively contributing to the Super Eagles’ AFCON campaign, while Musa has been a non-playing substitute in four consecutive matches.
