Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF) is a regional non-Government Organization established in April, 2003 but registered in July 2006 with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja, Nigeria.AYGF has an operational base in British Columbia Canada and Nigeria (Kogi State, Niger State, Ogun State, Katsina State, and FCT- Abuja).

 

Over the years, the Organization has implemented several projects that addressed issues around Migration, Public Health, Climate Change and Environment, Education, Democratic Governance, and Livelihood. We believe in an equitable society where the voice of the Youth and Communities is heard with their interests and welfare prioritized.

Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF) is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions below:

1.) Project Director

Location: Katsina

Education and Experience / Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nutrition, Public Health or Equivalent, Sociology, MBA);
  • At least 10 years of experience managing development projects, preferably in African countries with a strong focus on field implementation;
  • Experience managing projects with a focus on behavior change would be an asset; and
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) in English.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Ability and willingness to manage project implementation.
  • Knowledge and experience of nutrition / primary health care principles and management.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills. Willingness to support others and to share the workload.
  • Ability to work in partnership with government and other organizations’ staff.
  • Strong communications skills (both written and verbal) in English.
  • Independence, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Commitment to team working and understanding of how to contribute.
  • Commitment to AYGF’s mission, values, and approach (includes child protection, equal opportunities, and health and safety).
  • Excellent analytical and Organisational skills;
  • Excellent level of computer literacy.

2.) Nutritionist

Location: Katsina

Education and Experience / Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Public Health / Nutrition) with a minimum of 5 years of experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in working on nutrition-related issues with multi-sectoral teams in developing countries. Experience from African countries will be an asset;
  • Familiarity with analytical tools and ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical approaches for operational work; and
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) in English. Knowledge of other Nigerian languages will be an asset.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Ability to work in partnership with government and other Organisations’ staff.
  • Independence, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Commitment to team working and understanding of how to contribute.
  • Commitment to AYGF’s mission, values, and approach (includes child protection, equal opportunities, and health and safety).

3.) Procurement and Logistics Manager

Location: Katsina

Education and Experience / Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:

    • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Sciences, or Social Sciences with training in Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management
    • At least 7 years of experience in procurement planning and management in private sector/international organizations(preferably NGO/INGO);
    • Demonstrated experience in efficiently and efficaciously completing procurement of health-sector goods and commodities;
    • Knowledge and ability to work on ICT tools for inventory management, logistics, and supply chain management;
    • Knowledge of completing procurement in Nigeria or FCV countries;
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English;
  • Strong credibility and integrity in this domain.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Knowledge of local markets and vendors;
  • Strong personal, supervisory, and time management skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical and Organisational skills;
  • Excellent level of computer literacy.

4.) Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Manager

Location: Katsina

Education and Experience / Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have;

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics or Economics or Demography or Anthropology or Development Planning or Social Work or Epidemiology or related subjects of similar scope;
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in monitoring and evaluation in public health/nutrition or any large social sector programs;
  • In-depth knowledge of M & E techniques and methodologies including knowledge of conducting operations research, household surveys, and qualitative assessments; data analysis, interpretation, and reporting; and
  • Proficient with analytical tools and software such as Stata, SPSS, MS Excel, etc. Knowledge of other Nigerian languages will be an asset.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Understanding of local and international development issues.
  • Experience from working within an NGO.
  • Good understanding of programme design, theory of change functions, and logical frameworks, including links between objectives, indicators, targets, and activities.
  • Extensive experience in supporting M&E strategies and systems, and writing reports.
  • Experience in data gathering and analysis.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Experience with archiving systems and knowledge management.

5.) Finance & Admin Manager

Location: Katsina

Education and Experience / Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (Accounting professional qualification is essential) with a minimum of 10 years of experience;
  • At least 7 years of experience in a bi-lateral or multi-lateral agency-financed project in Nigeria (or an African country);
  • Knowledge and expertise in the field of project preparation, commercial negotiations, financial management, internal controls/systems development, accounting, auditing, and reporting; and
  • The ability to solve problems efficaciously by exercising good judgment will be an asset.
  • Must live in Katsina State.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Strong management, communication, and negotiation skills, and the ability to collect data from multiple partners.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft suite such as excel, word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of local financial and accounting systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of donor regulations, policies, and procedures and familiarity with grants management.
