The Chairman of Agatu Local Government Council,  James Melvin Ejeh, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of two residents, Imanche Paul Moses of Ologba Community and Umaru Gejeh of Enungba Community. The victims were attacked on Monday, February 23, 2026, while fishing at a fadama farm near Obishu by suspected herders.

Describing the act as heinous and barbaric, Ejeh said it is a direct assault on the peace, unity, and security of the local government. He stressed that such mindless violence against hardworking residents is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

He commended security agencies for their prompt response, which helped reduce casualties, and called on them to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“The Agatu Local Government Council is collaborating closely with security authorities to strengthen presence in flashpoints and safeguard lives and property,” Ejeh stated, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to protecting every resident.

The Chairman extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Agatu community, urging residents to remain calm, law-abiding, vigilant, and to assist security agencies with credible information to aid ongoing investigations.
