Agatu: Och’Idoma brokers peace between warring families over clan head

HRH Chief John Elaigwu Odogbo, has brought a peaceful resolution to the lingering Clan Head tussle of Abugbe clan, Agatu LGA.

This being one of the greatest steps towards peace in Agatu Icho.

Recall that this tussle has made the area a troubled spot for about 3 years unresolved.

Och’Idoma in his wisdom on Thursday laid this matter to rest, Onuminya Samuel Odoba, Chief Palace Scribe said in a statement.

Before the declaration, Agaba-Idu through divine instructions laid a noble request before them stating, “If anyone amongst you believe that his ambition to be a Clan Head is not greater than Abugbe as a Clan, such person should drop his bead and forget about the title.”

In response to this seemingly hard request, Chief Bartholomew Ijele was bold and courageous enough to passionately and peacefully drop his bead, in a show of his belief in the peaceful coexistence of Abugbe as a people and Idoma nation in general.

For this demonstration of character, plus the fact that prior judgements favoured Chief Ijele, Agaba Idu Och’Idoma V. declared Chief Bartholomew Ijele the authentic Clan Head of Abugbe.
