Aida Nath Ogwuche; a lionless that is as gentle as the dove

By Emmanuel Eche-Ofun John

On Wednesday, during the meeting of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs, chaired by Distinguished Senator Abba Patrick Moro, one of the members who walked in and caught my attention was Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife.

Senator Ekwunife represents Anambra Central Senatorial District of Anambra State, one of the most active female Senators in the Senate.

The female Lawmaker walked in with an aura of elegance, beauty and authority. She’s a bold, educated and very intelligent woman. No wonder she continues to be voted by her people on whichever political platform she chooses.

While looking at the Lawmaker and admiring her charisma, my mind quickly went to the young lady, Barr. Aida Nath Ogwuche, who, by God’s grace, shall be representing me in the House of Representatives from June 11, 2023.

Aida, like Ekwunife, is beautiful and very courageous. She’s as gentle as the dove, but a go-getter. When she sets her eyes on anything, she doesn’t look back until she gets what she wants. She voraciously went after the ticket of her party, the PDP, and got it. She went in, saw and conquered, making history as the first female to win the ticket of a major political party for my Federal Constituency election since 1999.

I remember during the 2019 electioneering campaigns for the Senatorial and gubernatorial elections, Aida was everywhere with the campaign trains. Where was considered dangerous for women to go, she was there. She never abandoned the campaign trains, no matter how late in the night. Indeed, she’s a fearless woman!
With Aida, Ogbadibo/Okpokwu/Ado Federal Constituency will, definitely, witness massive developmental projects. As a Lawyer, her primary responsibility of legislation won’t be lagging behind.

In Aida I see a rising star. A star that will illuminate Ogbadibo, Okpokwu and Ado. A star that will become so bright that where names like Uche Lilian Ekwunife of Nigeria, Angela Merkel of Germany, Margret Thatcher and Theresa May of United Kingdom, Aung San SUU Kyi of Myanmar, etc, are mentioned, she will also be mentioned.
Yes, I see in Aida a young lady who’s passionate, caring and coming to wipe away tears from the eyes of the people. She will work tirelessly for her Constituents and justify the confidence reposed on her by them.

Like I have always said about Senator Abba Patrick Moro, Aida’s aspiration is nothing about self but everything about the people of Enone. At her young age, her bread has already been buttered, so she’s out for us and not herself. Men are with her, youths are championing her cause and, of course, her immediate Constituency; the women folks, are all pushing for her. No one wants to be left out.

Indeed, what a man can do, a woman can do better!
Aida will be a performer, if she wins we all win!
