Let Enugu people breathe, Aisha Yesufu tells Gov Mbah

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has warned Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah to call his aides to order and allow the people of the state to breathe.

In a post on her verified X handle on Wednesday, Yesufu cited former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai as examples for Mbah to learn from.

She noted that Obaseki and El-Rufai held their respective offices in 2022, just as Mbah is currently serving as governor of Enugu State.

Yesufu also expressed her belief that El-Rufai played a significant role in Bola Tinubu’s emergence as president, questioning his current predicament under the same administration he helped bring to power.

She wrote:

“Dear Governor Mbah, in 2022, Obaseki was once occupying the seat you are occupying in Enugu. So also was El-Rufai, occupying the same seat in Kaduna. Where are both today?

“These are lessons everyone must learn from. I personally believe that El-Rufai was one of the most instrumental persons who helped Tinubu to be where he is not supposed to be, but see what is being done to him.

“Let Enugu people breathe. Call your people to order.”
