Ajuri Ngelale: A Biography

Ajuri Ngelale is a renowned editor, columnist, and investigative reporter known for his contributions to journalism and his role in Nigerian politics. Born on November 12, Ajuri hails from a distinguished lineage; his father, Chief Precious Osaro Ngelale, served as the Honourable Minister of State for Water Resources, while his mother is of German US descent. Raised in the creeks of Ogoniland in the Niger Delta region, Ajuri’s upbringing exposed him to the unique challenges and issues faced by the local communities.

Education played a significant role in shaping Ajuri’s intellectual journey. He completed his secondary education at Government Secondary School in Port Harcourt before embarking on his academic pursuits in the United States. Ajuri attended the University of Kansas, where he earned a degree in Political Science, and subsequently pursued another degree in History from the same university.

Upon returning to Nigeria from the United States, Ajuri began his career as a reporter for African Independent Television (AIT) News. He gained widespread recognition and fame through his exceptional investigative reporting skills, particularly for his groundbreaking report titled “EAGLE EYE.”

After making his mark at AIT, Ajuri continued to excel in his career by working as a Lead Consultant in Public Affairs at the Federal Ministry of Power. He then transitioned to work for Channels TV, where he showcased his talent as a TV presenter, producer, and senior news correspondent. His time at Channels TV further solidified his reputation as a prominent journalist in Nigeria.

In recognition of his expertise and dedication to public service, Ajuri was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs. In this capacity, he became known as a staunch defender of the president’s administration and policies. Ajuri took on the responsibility of articulating and promoting the government’s initiatives while engaging with the media both domestically and internationally.

Apart from his achievements in journalism and politics, Ajuri Ngelale is also a published author with two books to his credit. The first book titled “Struggle for Nigeria’s Soul” offers insights into the challenges facing Nigeria, while the second book “Buhari: From General to President” likely delves into the political journey of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In addition to his literary accomplishments, Ajuri’s investigative reporting skills have earned him a distinguished reputation in the field. His “Eagle Eye” report exemplifies his commitment to uncovering the truth and bringing attention to critical issues that affect Nigerian society.

Outside his professional life, Ajuri Ngelale is a family man, married to an Igbo lady, with whom he shares the joys of parenthood, raising three children.

Through his remarkable achievements as a journalist, author, and political aide, Ajuri Ngelale continues to leave a lasting impact on Nigerian society, contributing to the nation’s development and striving to address the challenges faced by its people.
