The body of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has arrived in Nigeria, touching down at approximately 3:39 pm on Friday.
Akeredolu’s remains were transported from Germany, where he passed away. The arrival was marked by the presence of his wife, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, along with his children and siblings, led by Prof. Wole Akeredolu, the immediate younger brother.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, represented by his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde; Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbi Talabi; and a representative of Osun State Governor, Senator Demola Adeleke, joined in the reception of the body.
The late Akeredolu, who passed away in Germany on December 26, 2023, has had his remains temporarily deposited at the mortuary until the final burial arrangements are made.
