Anambra State, Nigeria – Chidozie Nwangwu, a famous native doctor known as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, who was kidnapped last Sunday and released early Saturday morning, has shared a chilling account of his ordeal while in the hands of his abductors. Nwangwu, surrounded by concerned friends and well-wishers, felt compelled to set the record straight and clarify the circumstances of his abduction.
According to Nwangwu’s narration, he received a call from someone named Okey Japan, claiming to be at his hotel and in need of his presence. Without hesitation, he drove alone to the hotel in his new car, only to find himself amidst a sudden eruption of gunshots. Chaos ensued, and two of his security personnel lost their lives in the attack.
Despite the opportunity to escape, Nwangwu chose to stay with the kidnappers to prevent further bloodshed. He believed that leaving the scene would have led to more casualties, and he did not want to be falsely accused of being involved with the kidnappers. The native doctor emphasized that he had no involvement in any criminal activities and that his wealth came from his legitimate practices as a native doctor.
Nwangwu also addressed rumors circulating about disappointed clients seeking revenge for unsuccessful money-making rituals. He vehemently denied such claims, asserting that he did not take anyone’s money and had enough wealth to provide for anyone who genuinely sought his help.
During his captivity, the kidnappers mentioned plans to target more individuals, but Nwangwu refrained from disclosing further details at this time. He expressed deep sorrow for the lives lost during the incident, which he attributed to the ongoing sit-at-home protests.
As news of the witch doctor’s kidnapping spread, many speculated about the possible motives behind the abduction. However, Nwangwu urged people not to jump to conclusions and emphasized the need to let the authorities conduct a thorough investigation.
