Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has unveiled plans to utilize the five billion naira allocated by the federal government.
This financial aid is aimed at mitigating the challenges faced by citizens due to the subsidy removal.
The Governor made this announcement during the launch of the distribution of relief materials to the victims of the 2022 flood in Makurdi on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
He revealed that Benue State has already received two billion naira of the allocated funds and is anticipating the receipt of the remaining amount.
The state government has outlined several initiatives that will be implemented using the allocated funds.
One prominent initiative is the decision to register students in government-approved secondary schools for the WAEC (West African Examinations Council) and NECO (National Examinations Council) examinations during the 2023/2024 academic year.
