Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has declared an all-out offensive against insecurity, pledging that his administration will take decisive measures to restore peace across the state.

In a statement signed by the Governor’s Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, the governor said security personnel had been successfully deployed and reinforced in troubled communities in Kwande and other affected local government areas.

Governor Alia commended security agencies for their relentless efforts to restore calm in the affected communities and stressed that those responsible for insecurity in the state must be apprehended and prosecuted.

He explained that the latest deployment of security operatives marks the beginning of a stronger crackdown on criminal elements, noting that his administration will not relent until lasting peace is achieved.

The governor also reiterated that bandits and other individuals threatening the peace of the state would be tracked down and brought to justice, assuring residents that their safety, farmlands and communities would be protected.

Governor Alia further reassured the people of Benue that his government remains committed to ensuring their safety and would spare no effort in restoring peace across the state.

“Let this be a warning to all perpetrators of insecurity: Governor Alia will not be intimidated. I will not be deterred. I will crush insecurity in Benue State,” he declared.
