The Chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Mr. Oche Sunday Oche, has expressed strong confidence that Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia will secure a second term in office in the 2027 governorship election.

Oche made the assertion while speaking in Akure, the Ondo State capital, where he said the governor’s performance has earned him widespread acceptance and support among the people of Benue State.

According to the council chairman, the Alia administration has recorded notable progress in critical sectors, particularly in tackling insecurity, which he said has significantly reduced since the governor assumed office.

He described Governor Alia as a blessing to the state, noting that his leadership style and achievements have strengthened the governor’s political standing ahead of 2027.

Oche attributed the increasing wave of defections from opposition parties to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State to the governor’s growing popularity and track record in governance.

“The movement of politicians into the APC is a clear indication that they believe in the direction of Governor Alia’s leadership and his chances in the next election,” he said.

He further listed infrastructure development, regular payment of workers’ salaries, improvements in healthcare delivery and other governance reforms as factors driving support for the governor across the state.

The Ado council chairman also lauded the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Benue State APC Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Omale, for their roles in consolidating party unity and supporting the governor’s administration.

He noted that the decision of the APC National Working Committee recognising governors as leaders of the party in their respective states has helped to stabilise the Benue chapter of the party.

Oche equally acknowledged the efforts of prominent APC leaders, including Dr. Livinus Tsar, Chief Moses Ternenge and Rt. Hon. Solomon Wombo, for mobilising grassroots support for Governor Alia across Benue’s 23 local government areas.

He assured that his administration in Ado Local Government Area would continue to complement the state government’s efforts by delivering meaningful development and democratic dividends to the people at the grassroots.
