Alledged N109bn fraud: Suspended AGF, Ahmed Idris remanded in Kuje prison

Suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, has been sent to prison by the High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory.

Trial Justice A.O. Adeyemi Ajayi said Idris should be remanded in prison custody over his alleged illegal diversion of public funds to the tune of N109.4 billion.

The judge said the suspended AGF and other defendants in the matter should remain in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service till Wednesday when their bail applications would be heard.

The suspended AGF was arraigned on a 14-count bordering on conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and money laundering.
