The Caretaker Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. George Alli, today, Tuesday, October 8th, 2029, took delivery of nine (9) trailers containing 5600 bags of Fertilizers from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and distributed same to farmers in Otukpo.
This fertilizer distribution which is a follow up to a previous receipt and distribution of two trailers load of Agro-imput relief materials to over 1,200 farmers whose farmlands were destroyed by flood last year, by NEMA through the Chairman.
Alli has through this made good his promise to the farmers in July, that he will “follow up with NEMA to ensure that all the farmers receives Fertilizers from NEMA”.
The farmers were reported to have lost their farmlands in the various wards, due to flooding, occasioned by torrential rain fall in 2018.
The leader of NEMA delegation, Dr. Ejike Martins, a Deputy Director, Budget and Planning,( NEMA) said, “these materials are being distributed at the instances of National Food Security Council (NFSC).”
Hon George Alli, flanked by Council Officials, thanked the Federal Government and NEMA for coming to the aid of the farmers. hon. Alli promised to ensure proper redistribution of the items.
