Aloga Ogbogo appointed Mayor of Otukpo
The Otukpo community in Benue State has applauded the Paramount Ruler of the Idoma Kingdom, the Och’Idoma, His Royal Majesty Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, for appointing Chief Aloga Ogbogo as the Mayor of Otukpo Local Government Area.
A high-powered delegation from the local government, led by Chief Robert Obeka Iya, paid a courtesy visit to the monarch to express their gratitude, describing the appointment as a clear vote of confidence in the leadership capacity and integrity of their son and brother.
While addressing the delegation, the Och’Idoma urged all residents of Otukpo Local Government to rally behind Chief Aloga Ogbogo, stressing that he is the Mayor of the entire local government area and not just Otukpo township. He explained that the office of the Mayor serves as an extension of his authority, noting that wherever he cannot personally attend to matters, the Mayor will represent him.
The Agaba-Idu prayed for good health, wisdom and divine guidance for the Mayor as he carries out his responsibilities, adding that leadership positions are ultimately bestowed by God. He also thanked God for sustaining him through four years on the throne.
Speaking on behalf of Otukpo Township Wards 1, 2 and 3, Chief Eche Ochela commended the Och’Idoma for the prevailing peace in Idoma land and prayed for God’s continued protection and strength for the revered monarch.
