Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has vowed to address Victor Boniface’s reckless driving incident with decisive measures.
The Nigerian forward has faced significant backlash in Germany after being photographed using his mobile phone while driving at excessive speeds on the highway.
Images circulating on social media show Boniface scrolling on his phone while driving his Mercedes-Benz, accompanied by Nigerian rapper Zoro Swagbag. The photos reveal he was traveling at 141 kilometres per hour in a zone with a speed limit of 120 kilometres per hour.
“I don’t like it, it’s obviously not good, and of course, it’s not allowed to happen. I haven’t seen Boni, but he knows it’s not allowed,” Alonso told BeIN Sports.
“We have to tell him he’s not allowed to do something like this.”
Boniface is currently recuperating from the injury he sustained while on international duty last week.
