Amaabai: Benue Deputy Gov., Engr. Abounu orders investigation into killing of PDP Chieftain’s son

Benue State Acting Governor, Engr Benson Abounu has directed the security agencies to commence immediate and comprehensive investigation into the killing of late Orkuma Yandev Amaabai, son of PDP strongman, Chief Yandev Amaabai, who was gunned down Saturday night by yet to be identified gunmen.

Speaking during a condolence visit he paid to the politician in company of security chiefs in the state, Engr Abounu said he is alarmed by the spate of killings and kidnappings, particularly in Gboko.

He disclosed that these killings have given a bad impression about Benue State, making some business men contemplate leaving the state.

Engr Abounu directed the security agencies to synergise and do what ever needs to be done to ensure that those responsible for the killing of Orkuma are brought to book.
The Acting governor disclosed that a meeting of major stakeholders in the area shall be convened to examine the rising cases of kidnapping and killings in the area with a view to addressing them.

Receiving the Acting governor, Chief Amaabai expressed shock at the sudden and unexplained murder of his first son, who was killed on his way home from Gboko.
He thanked Engr Abounu for the visit and for his show of leadership and love. He also praised the security agents in Gboko for their quick response when the incident was reported to them.
