Amotekun nabs cultist, burglar in Osun State
The Amotekun Corps in Osun State has successfully arrested a suspected cultist and a burglar in separate operations conducted in Ila-Orangun and Osogbo on Thursday.
The first suspect, Sodiq Adelabu, a 20-year-old native of Osogbo, was apprehended in Osogbo for his alleged involvement in secret cult activities and theft. During interrogation, he admitted to being a member of the Eiye Confraternity.
The second suspect, Sunday Oluwasegun, 22, hails from Ila-Orangun and was arrested for breaking into a house in the town and stealing money and household appliances.
Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, made the announcement in a statement issued on Friday. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities and criminal elements in their communities. Adewinmbi assured them that their identities would be kept confidential and encouraged their active participation in the fight against crime.
Following the arrests, the suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
