Ange Postecoglou appointed as Nottingham Forest’s new coach
Nottingham Forest Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as its new First Team Head Coach.
The decision comes shortly after the departure of former manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who left the club on Monday evening amid reported disagreements with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Postecoglou, 60, arrives at the City Ground with over 25 years of managerial experience, having coached successfully in Australia, Japan, Scotland, and England.
His most recent spell was at Tottenham Hotspur, where he guided the North London side to Europa League glory in the 2024/25 season, delivering their first trophy in 17 years. Despite this success, he was dismissed in June 2025 after Spurs endured a disappointing Premier League campaign, finishing 17th.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis welcomed the Australian coach, highlighting his pedigree and winning mentality.
“We are bringing in a coach with a consistent record of success,” Marinakis said. “His wealth of experience at the highest level and his ambition to build something lasting at Forest make him the right person to drive our journey forward and achieve our long-term goals.”
