Angry mob burn suspected armed robber to death in Benue

A suspected armed robber was on Thursday burnt to death by irate mob in Gwer East Local government area of Benue State.

It was gathered that the incident happened in Igboor axis of the town.

According to sources the suspected armed robber has been terrorising the area for some time.

Efforts by our correspondent to get Police comment on the incident proved abortive as a spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, this medium reported that a man who was caught while stealing yams at farm in Ogwule, Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, blamed the economic hardship brought by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for his action.

When confronted by rampaging youths, the culprit agreed that he stole the yams, asked forgiveness, promising that he would change a new leaf of life in Jesus name.
