Angry mob sets suspected phone thieves ablaze in Anambra

Angry mob set two alleged thieves ablaze at Regina Caeli Junction over the weekend along the Awka – Onitsha Expressway in Awka, the Anambra state capital.

According to reports, the suspects were allegedly caught attempting to snatch a phone from a passerby. They were however apprehended at Club Road and were dragged from there to the junction where they were eventually set ablaze.

In Onitsha, Nkpor and Obosi areas of Anambra State, suspected thieves are usually set ablaze by angry mob, perhaps, to serve as a deterrent to others plotting to steal.

The state police command is yet to comment on this development.
