Another bad news from Benue as Aondona Yaga sets self on fire

A young staff of Gwer East local government, identified as Aondona Yaga, has set himself ablaze and died in Aliade.

Eyewitness report says Aondona works as a casual staff at the Gwer local government secretariat, Aliade until his death.

According to his grandmother who was seen around his abandoned corpse this morning, life became very miserable for the young Aondona who has not been paid his little allowance as casual staff for close to three years.

He took ill and kept looking for money to treat himself until he decided there was no need to be alive anymore thereby entering his room and setting it on fire.

Information Officer of Gwer Local Government, Mr. Chris Avi confirmed the news of Aondona’s death and status as staff of the local government without further details.

At the time of writing this report, his corpse was still abandoned in front of his burnt thatch house in Aliade with his grandmother watching helplessly.
