Despite the recently-passed bill prohibiting Open Rearing and Grazing of cattle in Benue State, Fulani herdsmen have taken over the streets of Makurdi, the state capital.
The bill is till waiting for Governor Samuel Ortom’s assent.

However, the herdsmen Wednesday morning invaded the streets of Makurdi, grazing their cattle unperturbed.
A resident of Makrudi, Kaase Adzaugbah, who pictured the herders and their cattle parading the capital city, described it as an eyesore.
Another social media activist, Solomon Samenka wondered why they are not singing the bill.
He added that, “There should be a department of stomach infrastructure.. Were cows could be sentenced.”
