Antonio Rudiger sends quick recovery message to Super Eagles striker

Antonio Rudiger has wished Umar Sadiq quick recovery after the striker was diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Sadiq is now set to miss the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign as a result of the setback.

The Nigeria international sustained the injury in his club Real Sociedad 2-1 defeat to Getafe on Sunday night.

Real Sociedad confirmed on Monday that the forward will undergo surgery in the coming days.
“Sadiq has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. The player will undergo surgical treatment, ”reads a statement on the club’s official website.
” Further information will be provided in the coming days.”

Rudiger, who was Sadiq’s teammate during their time at Serie A club, AS Roma took to the social media to wish his friend quick recovery.

“Stay strong my brother, Almighty knows why,”Rudiger posted on Instagram.

Sadiq linked up with Real Sociedad on transfer deadline day.

He was a direct replacement for Sweden star Alexander Isak, who moved to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
