APC boasts court will dismiss Peter Obi, Atiku’s petitions against Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that the legal challenges mounted against President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the recent presidential election are, in the words of Senator Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the APC, “terribly hopeless.”

The petitions, presented by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), contesting Tinubu’s triumph, have been met with staunch dismissal by Basiru. The political landscape has been awash with anticipation as the legal proceedings unfold.

Addressing the matter during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Senator Basiru categorically refuted speculations suggesting that the APC is gearing up for a potential rerun election.

“From my knowledge of electoral law in Nigeria and having read the petitions and also being part of the proceedings, I would say that all the petitions against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election are hopeless and nobody needs to even waste time in dismissing same.

“They are hopeless petitions, terribly hopeless,” he boasted.
