A coalition of major opposition political groups and some other stakeholders under the aegis of the National Consultative Front (NCF), has regrouped to displace the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 general election.

The coalition has also inaugurated a merger committee to negotiate a possible merger with other existing political parties across the country.

The 22 member political merger committee is headed by Rt Hon Ghali Umar Na’aba, former speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives.

One of the conveners, Prof. Pat Utomi, who spoke during the inauguration said there is a need to reclaim Nigeria and build a country that “our children will be proud of.”

IDOMA VOICE recalls that in 2014, Action Congress (AC), ANPP, CPC and other opposition parties formed the merger that gave birth to the current ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which took power from the then ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
