The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victory in all the seats during the local government elections held on Saturday in Kogi State.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), Mamman Eri, while announcing the results on Saturday night.
“The APC performed remarkably, sweeping all chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving no seats for the 18 other political parties that participated in the election,” Eri stated.
He explained that the results announced at the commission’s headquarters were previously declared at various collation centers by the respective returning officers.
“As the chairman of KOSIEC, I officially confirm the results collated and returned by the returning officers,” he added.
Eri also expressed gratitude to the electoral officials, security personnel, observers, and media representatives for their roles in ensuring the smooth conduct of the election.
