Fuad Laguda, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, sailed to a resounding triumph in the Surulere Federal Constituency I by-election in Lagos on Saturday. Laguda faced minimal opposition from Adeola Adebanjo (Labour Party) and Jerry Afemighie (Peoples Democratic Party), who posed no threat to his victory.
The Returning Officer, Prof Simeon Adebayo, announced that Laguda secured 11,203 votes in the election, which was prompted by the vacancy left by Femi Gbajabiamila’s resignation to assume the role of Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
