The Benue State Government has made a commitment to enhance the sports facilities within the state. During an inspection tour of the Aper Aku Stadium, the state’s Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Rt Hon. Terkimbir Ikyange, announced this initiative.
Aper Aku Stadium serves as the home ground for the Nigerian Premier Football League team, Lobi Stars. Ikyange emphasized that the planned upgrades would bring the stadium to modern standards in alignment with the country’s football regulatory authorities’ expectations.
Furthermore, he reiterated the state government’s unwavering dedication to revitalizing sports within the state. This commitment includes implementing policies and programs aimed at enticing youth involvement in sports and steering them away from engaging in social vices.
It’s worth noting that Lobi Stars played their 2022-23 NPFL season at the New Jos Stadium, which is the home ground of Plateau United.
