The Acting Spokesperson of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, James Ornguga, was allegedly severely beaten by men of the Nigerian army on Thursday night, in Makurdi, the state capital, IDOMA VOICE reports.

Ornguga who shared the news on his Facebook page, said he was tortured by the army for no just cause.

He lamented he didn’t know the offense he committed to warrant the brutality melted on him.

He wondered if “there was a curfew in town or there was any problem”

A Facebook user with the handle Daniel Uza, alleged that the acting APC spokesman was just one of those beaten by the soldiers in Makurdi on Thursday night adding that “according to reports from eyewitnesses, the soldiers usually drive into town from North Bank around 9PM-10PM and start flogging innocent people.”
