Arsène Wenger visits his statue for the first time at Emirates Stadium

Arsène Wenger, the legendary former manager of Arsenal, had an emotional moment as he came face to face with his statue for the first time at Emirates Stadium. Wenger, who returned as the guest of honor for Arsenal’s game against Monaco, had the privilege of seeing the bronze tribute depicting him lifting one of his three Premier League titles.

Reflecting on the experience, Wenger expressed his delight at being forever associated with a highly successful period in Arsenal’s history. During his tenure, he led the team to three Premier League titles and claimed seven FA Cups. Moreover, he played a crucial role in guiding the club through the transition from Highbury to their current home at Emirates Stadium, solidifying his place in the hearts of Arsenal supporters.

“It looks a bit strange to look at yourself not moving!” Wenger humorously remarked about the statue. However, he also shared the genuine emotions he felt upon seeing the tribute. “But it’s emotional because it’s an honor, and overall, I always wanted to be part of this club, and somewhere I feel I’m part of this club forever, and that’s where I want to be. So, I’m happy because I’m where I want to be,” Wenger said with gratitude.

Throughout his managerial career, Wenger’s motivation was fueled by the desire to contribute to something greater than himself. He believed in making Arsenal one of the biggest clubs in the world, and his dedication to that vision shines through when he looks at the stadium he helped build.

“For me, it’s great to see it and come back to such a fantastic atmosphere now, with our fans and the team doing well. It’s a great satisfaction,” Wenger added, acknowledging the joy of witnessing Arsenal’s current success.
