Asake tops Burna Boy’s record on billboard chart

Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, has set a new record on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, surpassing Burna Boy.

Asake’s new album, Lungu Boy, has led to nine of his tracks making it onto this week’s Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, bringing his total entries to 50.

His track “Active,” featuring American rapper Travis Scott, currently holds the top spot.

The Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, which launched in April 2022, has consistently highlighted the dominance of Nigerian artists.
