ASUU Begins Nationwide Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite nationwide strike.

According to the organisation, the strike is to protest the poor funding of Nigerian universities.

The National President of ASUU, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi declared the strike at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State.

All academic staff of universities were directed to withdraw their services immediately.
