Ademola Lookman, the Nigerian winger for Atalanta, has described the team’s 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final as “one of the best nights of my life.”
Lookman’s impressive performance saw him score twice in the first half and once in the second, securing a historic win for Atalanta as the first Serie A team to lift the title.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Lookman expressed his joy and disbelief, saying: “One of the best nights of my life. Amazing performance from the team, we did it, we did it, we did it! Not got much else to say but yeah fantastic.”
He also referenced the team’s previous final losses this season, saying: “They do always say third time lucky, so yeah it is for us today. I’m just happy we won. We won today, so yes, very pleased.”
