Atletico Madrid hold Barcelona in eight-goal Copa thriller

Alexander Sorloth’s stoppage-time equalizer capped off a breathtaking 4-4 draw between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on Tuesday.
The match delivered non-stop drama, with momentum swinging wildly between the two Spanish giants.
Julian Alvarez stunned the hosts by scoring just 50 seconds in, and former Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann doubled Atletico’s lead moments later.
However, Barcelona responded swiftly, with Pedri and Pau Cubarsi finding the net to level the score within 19 minutes.
An Iñigo Martínez header and a composed finish from Robert Lewandowski gave Barcelona a commanding 4-2 lead, but Diego Simeone’s side refused to go down without a fight.
Marcos Llorente pulled one back late on, before Sorloth pounced deep into stoppage time, ensuring the tie remains finely poised heading into April’s second leg.
