It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that the Office of the Member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency received the shocking news of the passing of our revered father, elder statesman, former Minister, and distinguished ex-lawmaker, Chief Audu Ogbeh. His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our constituency, Benue State, and the nation at large.

In honour of Chief Ogbeh’s extraordinary life and contributions, we declare 14 days of mourning across the 35 wards of Enone. We call on spiritual, political, and community leaders to unite in prayers and reflection, seeking comfort and strength during this solemn period.

Chief Ogbeh was a symbol of peace and reconciliation. He was a bridge-builder whose life inspired harmony across divides. We, therefore, urge all citizens, leaders, and stakeholders to embrace the unity he championed, setting aside differences to build a stronger community. As he often demonstrated, peace is the foundation of progress.

As we grieve, we draw solace from Psalm 90:12 (NIV): “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom,” reminding us of life’s brevity and the need to live purposefully. We are also inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:18 (NIV): “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,” urging us to pursue peace and unity in his honour.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Chief Ogbeh’s family, friends, and the people of our federal constituency. May his soul find eternal rest.

Signed,
Lawrence Oduh
Chief Press Secretary to the Honourable Member
