Awoniyi agrees personal terms with Nottingham Forest

Union Berlin and Nigeria international forward Taiwo Awoniyi is few details away from joining newly promoted English Premier League side Nottingham Forest on a four year deal.

Awoniyi and his agent are meeting with officials of the English Premier League side in Greece. We exclusively gathered that an agreement on his wages have been reached all that is left is for a transfer fee to be agreed with Union Berlin.

24 year old Awoniyi is keen on the move to England as it is the wish of his wife to settle there. His desire made him to turn down a move to fellow German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

A fee of €20m has been pegged as his buy out clause with Nottingham Forest expected to meet it with ease. His former club  Liverpool are due a percentage from his proposed sale as they had a sell on clause inserted in the deal that took him to the club last summer.

He scored 15 goals in 31 Bundesliga games last season and also made the Nigerian team to the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. He hasn’t been called up since then but new coach Jose Peseiro is reportedly keeping a close watch on him.
