The Ballon D’Or award will be held in-situ this year, after it was cancelled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, won the last edition in 2019.
This year, France Football will hand out two winners on December 5 in Paris, according to L’Equipe.
It is the first time this will be happening in the award’s history.
The 2019/20 season, however, was finished well after FF’s decision with Robert Lewandowski leading Bayern Munich to victories in Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League with 55 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.
Apparently, it’ll be Lewandowski who gets the 2020 edition of the award.
As for this year’s prize, Messi is believed to be the favourite to claim it after winning the 2021 Copa America, which is his first-ever major trophy with Argentina.
