Nigeria and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman secured the 14th spot in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings.
Lookman’s placement was announced on the Ballon d’Or’s official X account on Monday, October 28, 2024.
He was the only African player to make this year’s 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist.
Last year, Victor Osimhen finished eighth in the prestigious awards.
Ademola Lookman proved to be Atalanta BC’s most valuable player last season, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions, which earned him Atalanta’s Player of the Year honor.
Additionally, Lookman’s hat-trick in the Europa League final secured the Bergamo club’s first-ever Europa League trophy in its 116-year history, making him the first African player to score a treble in a Europa League final.
